Caring for our Environment

It was yet another exciting day at helping hands as we all took part in the environmental day activity held in the facility. At about 10am, our kids and their facilitators were out of the classrooms to start the exercises wearing appropriate work attires such as their hand gloves, nose covers and so on.

Our kids worked on keeping the environment clean with their facilitators who were with them to guide and show them how to care for their environment. Some of the activities which they enjoyed doing were; cutting the overgrown flowers, raking the weed, tidying their play ground and so on. Our kids really had fun carrying out these activities and following instructions.

The environmental day was also an educative one as the coordinator of the event also organized a little interactive session with the kids while the activities were going on. Our kids were thought why environmental sanitation is important, ways of taking care of the environment, tools needed to take care of the environment and the important safety wears needed for environmental sanitation.
In addition, our kids were also taught personal hygiene, ways of taking care of themselves such as, brushing of teeth, taking their bath, combing their hair and so on. They also learnt why it is important to have a personal hygiene and also tools needed to take care of themselves.

We want our kids to be able to give back to their parents for their love and support towards them and so we believe that these trainings will enable them to help ease the work of their parents, if they learn how to take care of themselves and their immediate environment.
The environmental day was indeed exciting and educating as our children learnt a lot and also had fun practicing what they were being taught under the careful supervision of their facilitators.
