Learning The Movie Way
Today, the kids at our facility enjoyed learning, though an exciting and fun filled movie time. Though it seemed at first like a mere fun and relaxing exercise, underneath the facility had another motive, firstly to help our kids who enjoy hyperactive activities to learn how to settle down and focus. it was amazing to see their cute faces glued to the massive screen, as they asked for more every time we switched off the movie unexpectedly. Facilitators and children were also able to unwind from the regular teaching method to a more fun and exciting style of teaching. The activity started at about 12pm with the children assembled at the meeting room with their facilitators.
The kids enjoyed two movies, the first “Tinkerbelle”, a movie about a tinker fairy known for her creativity and bravery in handling the numerous challenges that came her way. The second movie, “Cinderella”, was a current rendition of the classic nice fairy, focusing on an honest, kind and hardworking girl who faced some difficulties with her step mother and step sisters after the death of her father. Cinderella, the heroine of the movie, was later chosen by the prince amongst all the beautiful maidens to become his bride and future queen.
The movies were fun filled and educative with beautiful lessons for all our children. There were times when some kids would imitate, predict or comment about things the events as they unfolded during the movie, with bright enthusiasm in their faces. It was quite refreshing to see such priceless expressions on their faces..
But that was'nt all, after the movie time, we had an interactive question and answer session. Well, they did enjoy the movies, the special time they spent with their facilitators as well as the laughter they shared together. We also asked them questions about the movies to see which of them were listening closely as well as the lessons they learnt from the movies, and we were proud to witness them answer the questions intuitively and correctly.
Indeed, our children had a lovely time being together with their friends and facilitators and everyone was so excited to have participated. The activity ended at about 2pm when the children all dispersed with smiles on their faces and loads of questions about the next inhouse next movie time will be held.
